At South Mornington Preschool, our
Community Outings and Bush Kinder program provides children with meaningful
opportunities to connect with nature, Country and the local community. These
experiences are an important part of our four-year-old kindergarten program and
reflect our belief that learning happens beyond the kindergarten gates.
Through regular outings, children
develop a strong sense of belonging within their community and begin to
understand that they are valued and important contributors to the world around
them. Whether we are exploring local parks, visiting community spaces or
spending time immersed in natural environments, children are encouraged to
observe, question, investigate and connect with the places around them.
Our Community Outings and Bush
Kinder program supports children to:

environment and community spaces
🌿 Deepen their understanding of First Nations perspectives,
including the importance of connection to Country, storytelling, caring for the
land and learning from the wisdom of First Peoples
